Talk About The Traditional Product

  1. Well, I would like to start by saying that India is well-known for its heritage, culture and traditions. 
  2. There are number of traditions as well as traditional products which are not only popular among the Indians but also among the dwellers of other parts of the world.
  3. I also have special affinity towards different traditional products and choosing one of them is really an arduous task for me.
  4. Here I would like to talk about ‘Turmeric’ which is crucial since medieval time.
  5. Let me tell you how I became aware of this product. As I said earlier, turmeric is used since ages, so it has a significant role in the Indian kitchen.
  6. My mother use turmeric on daily basis to make different cuisines, from her I came to know about it.
  7. Well, I feel this product is amazing owing to different reasons.
  8. First of all, Turmeric has been used in Asia for thousands of years and is a major part of Ayurveda.
  9. Secondly, turmeric is one of the key ingredients in many Asian dishes
  10. In addition, in India, turmeric plant leaf is used to prepare special sweet dishes.
  11. In some regions: Maharashtra, Goa turmeric leaves are also used to wrap and cook food. 
  12. The third interesting fact about turmeric is that in Ayurvedic andSiddha practices, turmeric has been used as an attempted treatment for a variety of internal disorders such as indigestion, throat infections, common colds, or liver ailments, as well as topically, to cleanse wounds or treat skin sores.
  13. South Asian countries use it as an antiseptic for cuts, burns, and bruises.
  14. What else I can say... oh yes!...because of its brilliant yellow color, turmeric is also known as “Indian saffron.”
  15. In Southeast Asia, turmeric is used not only as a principal spice but also as a component in religious ceremonies.
  16. Haldi ceremony, to site an example, is a ceremony observed during Hindu wedding celebrations in many parts of India including Bengal, Punjab, Maharashtra, and Gujarat.
  17. Apart from having indispensable role in food, medicine, Turmeric has the equal role in cosmetics as well.
  18. As turmeric is currently used in the formulation of several sunscreens. 
  19. Even several multinational companies are involved in making face creams based on turmeric.
  20. Furthermore, turmeric paste is used by women in some parts of India to remove superfluous hair.
  21. All in all, I must say, this is one of the traditional products which I like the most. Thanks.
